About Me

In my professional life I am a leadership coach and facilitator focused on supporting the growth of confident leaders and effective teams.

Values-driven work is my calling. I’ve worked in nonprofit organizations with missions ranging from the arts to community building to higher education. Along the way I’ve tackled administrative challenges big and small and found my true passion in staff development - ultimately leading me to coaching.

I am an ICF and Clifton Strengths Certified Coach focused on helping individuals accomplish meaningful change in their lives — both professionally and personally. After spending over twenty years in nonprofit and higher education administration, I am shifting my focus to help the individuals central to the success of these organizations.

The passion that fueled my accomplishments in a career in nonprofit world is the same passion that inspires me to encourage and support others who are chasing similar goals.

The pandemic forced me outdoors where I reconnected with a part of me I had somehow abandoned over the last two decades. I now spend my free time outside in my garden, exploring nature, and taking walks. These moments bring balance and clarity to the hectic pace of modern life.

I chose the name Adamah as a personal reminder of the power of nature, my responsibility to treat the earth with respect, and the vital role of the natural world to a healthy body and mind. Time outdoors grounds me. It acts as a counterbalance to the stresses of everyday life. It allows me to recenter, refocus, and devote my newfound energy to things that excite and move me.

Recent  research confirms the mental, physical, emotional, and social benefits. Most of us don't need a scientific study to confirm that stepping outside makes us feel good. (If you do want to see the research, check out the resources section.) If you can't get outside, looking out a window or listening to nature sounds provides similar results.

Behind The Name

Adamah [ah dah mah] noun

  1. A Hebrew word (אֲדָמָה) meaning ground or earth.
  2. Etymologically linked to the word adom / adam or human, reinforcing the inherent connection between humankind and the earth. Shares a root with the Hebrew word dam or blood.

Adamah embodies the essence of both the earth and humankind, as well as the inextricable connection between the two, and there is no equivalent English word which expresses that bond.
